Recipients will be awarded a three hundred dollar ($300) grant.
Applicants have the options of proposing a set of one title, several titles by one author, or theme-based titles. Titles may be made from the Newbery, Caldecott, or IRA Children’s list, or any other district-approved literature selection.
The Literature Grants Committee will conduct a review of the submitted proposals. Proposals will be ranked based on the information included in the Instructional Plan and the Explanation of the Need. Points will be awarded for appropriate titles chosen for the grade identified in the grant proposal. Grants will be awarded in ranking order.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be current South Carolina classroom teachers
- Be current SCIRA members
To apply, submit the following by December 1st:
- A completed copy of the official grant application form
